  • Work:

I am currently a Quantitative Research Analyst at Graham Capital Management, L.P. With rigorous risk management and portfolio construction, we provide diversifying alternative investment strategies by developing proprietary trading signals through signal processing, statistical modeling, machine learning, and many more tools.

    Studies:

I obtained my Ph.D. in physics from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in 2023. My research was on gravitational-wave (GW) signal detection and astrophysical/cosmological inference of GW signals with interferometric detectors at the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory (LIGO) as a member of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration. In particular, I led the algorithmic development of an end-to-end data pipeline to map out the stochastic GW background intensity on the sky using various statistical methods. Also, along with my colleagues, I developed and operated an analysis pipeline to identify and characterize weak GW signals in noisy data through matched filtering. My thesis advisor was Prof. Alan J. Weinstein.

Before Caltech, I obtained my Bachelor's degrees in Astronomy-Physics with High Distinctions and in Mathematics from the University of Virginia (UVA) in 2015. I was an Echols Scholar at the UVA College of Arts & Sciences and I was inducted into Sigma Pi Sigma - American physics honor society - at UVA.
    [More on my resume.]

Besides physics and astronomy, I am enthusiastic about computational science. I love to learn and apply state-of-the-art techniques not just to conduct research, but also to solve hard and interesting problems.

    Life:

Apart from science, I enjoy traveling around the world. I've visited 22 countries as of date, and still counting! I am also a super foodie and an art museum/gallery/Broadway lover. I love going to all sorts of fun events and activities with friends in leisure time. I have two 🐶s, Peanut and Butter! And I look forward to adopting a 🐱, Jelly!
